Swing Dancing originated from the Lindy Hop of the 1930s. This dance was
named for Charles Lindbergh, who had completed his "Hop," or solo flight
over the Atlantic. Ragtime and Blues were popular style
of music to Swing dance to at that time.
In the 40s, swing dancing was done to Big Band Music of Glenn Miller,
Benny Goodman, and Tommy Dorsey.
Today, Swing is a high energy dance often
performed with many acrobatics.
